Hospital gets recognition
ValleyCare Health System has received a bronze award for performance excellence by the California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE), which recognizes businesses with continuous improvement in leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement/knowledge management, human resources, process management and business results. Four categories are awarded: gold, silver, bronze and prospector, with 22 California organizations and businesses recognized.
“The criteria are rigorous and organizations that apply put themselves through the most respected and demanding filter in the country. To win this award on any level is worthy of tremendous respect,” said Denise Shields, chairwoman of the CAPE Award.
ValleyCare submitted its application to CAPE in July 2006. In late October, ValleyCare was informed that examiners would visit both campuses, in Pleasanton and Livermore, by mid November. The award will be presented at the 13th annual Conference and Awards Ceremony on April 6 in San Diego.
