Jean Victoria Dickson

Alamo resident Jean Victoria Dickson died March 12 after a continuing battle with heart problems. As noted on her license plate, she was “Still 26”; as a Christmas baby, every Dec. 25 she had a party to celebrate turning 26 again, with a huge party the year her son Scott also was 26.

She grew up in Chicago attending Catholic grammar and high schools, and attended Northwestern University before taking a job in advertising. She ended with Compton as a traffic manager, and in 1964, had a male assistant, a very proud feat before women’s lib.

She and Jon were married in 1965 and moved to California. After three years in San Francisco, they moved to Danville where she became a mother and homemaker. Her friends remember her quick mind and determined nature, sharp sense of humor and her ability to tell the truth, even when it was painful.

She is survived by her husband Jon, and children Scott and Heather.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Isidore’s Church in Danville on March 16. The family requests any donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame 94010.
