“Newcomers, start your engines.” With these words, Allison Krutulis, immediate past president of Alamo-Danville Newcomers, started the club’s recent Road Rally. After the 48 participants enjoyed appetizers at the Krutulis home, the rally led them all around the area in assigned cars, to pick up clues that led them from spot to spot. The last clue led them to dinner at the home of Terrie and Alex Jaurequi, decked out with black and white racing flags and race car paraphernalia.
The winners, determined by who found all seven clues in the shortest time, were: First Place – Jackie and Ken Wise, Gail and David Wittman; Second Place – Laurie and Spencer Borg, Kellie and Mike Mooney, Lisa and Thomas Slater. Last place prize went to the team of Donna and Bill Chisum, and Maureen and Len Eisenstein.

Eighty-two golfers representing over 50 businesses converged on Round Hill Country Club on June 25 for the first 680 Commercial Golf Classic to raise funds for the Discovery Counseling Center of the San Ramon Valley, which provides clinic-based and school-based counseling; and Habitat for Humanity East Bay, which builds simple affordable homes with low-income families.
“We are blessed to have some generous sponsors and enthusiastic golfers to make this first annual event such a success,” said tournament co-chairman Jim Hammarstrom of North American Title. “The 680 Commercial Idea Exchange is a networking group for commercial Realtors, bankers, and vendors that meets monthly in Danville.”
The major sponsors of the day’s events include: Abacus Financial, North American Title, Imperial Capital Bank, Alamo Financial Partners, the East Bay Business Times, and Niello Infinity. Also playing significant sponsorship roles in the tournament were Greater Bay Bank, Absidian Lending, Sonoma National Bank, US Bank, Hometown Commercial, the PMI Foundation, Aspire Investments, Corplogowear.com, United Commercial Bank, the Mechanics Bank and Provident Bank.
