The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Showcase Food and Wine Event was held last week for the first time at the Blackhawk Museum. About 600 people attended the popular event, which cost $20.
Twenty businesses poured wine at their booths, and 17 restaurants offered samples, from mashed potatoes served in martini glasses to Mideastern fare. Other businesses offered chocolates and other goodies, including fancy pens, hand wipes, lotions, pads and pencils. A photographer took photos of people posing with one of the museum’s fantastic automobiles and printed them on the spot.
“The whole purpose is to be able to introduce people to new people,” said Chamber President Melony Newman. “There’s value in the evening from meeting all of the businesses, tasting amazing food, amazing wine – and the photos with cars.”
