The discovery of multiple Indian burials during the construction of the new gym at San Ramon Valley High School has prompted the Museum of the San Ramon Valley to present a special interpretive program, “Through Indian Eyes.” The public is invited to attend from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Museum. This occurs at the opening of the Indian Life Exhibit and educational program for valley students.
“Through Indian Eyes” features speaker Don Phelps, a lecturer in Native American Studies at the University of Phoenix and an adjunct professor in the School of Education at St. Mary’s College. He will give a presentation on Native American hunting and collection of food, domestic life, daily rituals, celebration of births and deaths, dress and adornment, and the use of basket. He is a resident of Alamo.
The Museum is located at the corner of Railroad and Prospect avenues in Danville.
