Walnut Creek police arrested a man for allegedly firing shots at someone Tuesday evening.

The suspect, a 43-year-old resident of Walnut Creek, was arrested early Wednesday.

At 7:18 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Sierra Drive.

The alleged shooter was already gone when officers arrived, but police discovered his identity. Police said the suspect and victim were known to each other.

No one was injured in the shooting and there are no outstanding suspects.

The suspect was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He’s being held in lieu of $600,000 bail.
