Four female teens from Walnut Creek and Concord were taken into custody following the attack and robbery of an older man near the Rossmoor retirement community late last week, according to police.
The robbery was reported at about 11 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Tice Valley Boulevard. Walnut Creek police said four female suspects assaulted the man, stole some of his personal property and then fled in a vehicle.
Police said the victim suffered “significant” injuries in the attack but did not elaborate.
Investigators were able to identify the suspect vehicle and located it a short time later. All four people in the car were taken into custody. Two girls ages 15 and 17 from Walnut Creek were taken to juvenile hall, while two 18-year-old Concord residents were booked into county jail in Martinez, according to police.
The suspects were booked on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, causing injury to an elder, and conspiracy, police said.
