The Dublin community now has access to a free outdoor gym at the academic campus on York Drive, thanks to a partnership between the school district and the National Fitness Campaign.

Unveiled earlier this month, the Fitness Court brand exercise structure features seven workout zones (core, squat, push, lunge, pull, agility and bend) designed to let users of all ability levels set their own pace and hit all major muscle groups by leveraging their own body weight across the seven stations. The free Fitness Court App offers guided workouts and coaches.

“We know that access matters when it comes to health and wellness,” Dublin Unified School District Superintendent Chris Funk said in an April 3 press release. “By bringing a Fitness Court and supportive programming into our community, we are helping remove barriers and ensuring that more students and families have the opportunity to engage in regular physical activity.”

Open to students, staff and the greater community, the Fitness Court is located on DUSD’s York Alternative Learning Center, on the west end of the track between Wells Middle School and the current Valley High School campus.

In addition to the National Fitness Campaign, the district received support from Fremont Bank and Roebbelen Construction for the project.

“By bringing an outdoor Fitness Court and digital wellness programming to Dublin, the District is creating a lasting resource that supports physical and mental wellbeing while making fitness accessible to everyone. We are proud to partner with the Dublin Unified School District to help bring that vision to life,” said Mitch Menaged, founder of National Fitness Campaign.

“The addition of the outdoor Fitness Court and digital wellness programming reflects a meaningful investment in improving health outcomes and expanding opportunities for movement, connection, and wellbeing across the Dublin community,” Menaged added.
