A senior housing company broke ground this month on a memory care project in western Dublin, with the goal of opening the facility late next year.
The two-story, approximately 35,000 square-foot building – dubbed Inspiration Memory Care – is being constructed at 7500 Inspiration Drive, just down the hill from Brave Christian Schools.Â
Costing $35 million, the memory care project is phase one of a two-part development in which Calson Management and Development plans to build an assisted living facility on a nearby property beginning next year for opening in the second quarter of 2028, according to Calson Management principal Jason Reyes.
“This is really just the beginning of our senior living experience here in Dublin,” Reyes said during the groundbreaking ceremony Sept. 9. “There’s several years ahead of us that we’re looking forward to.”
During the ceremony, Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu applauded the upcoming facilities as being much needed developments in Dublin.
“At city of Dublin, we want to make sure we take care of all our residents,” Hu said.
As for separating the memory care and assisted living spaces, Reyes said the development choice benefits both sides.Â
“There is an enormous amount of focus that gets to go into being a speciality memory care building that you don’t always get in a combined building,” Reyes told the Pleasanton Weekly.
The building will be specialized for memory care residents with the colors, type of flooring and lighting, he explained.
“We also realize that assisted living residents don’t always want to be in the same space as the memory care residents,” Reyes added.
Calson Management developed a similar setup 15 years ago in Vacaville, Reyes said.
Inspiration Memory Care is a Linden Collection Memory Care Community, sister to The Linden Collection, which is a senior living community located within The Well @ Sunset neighborhood in Livermore.
