The Contra Costa Wind Symphony unites with some of the Bay Area’s most talented rock musicians for the U.S. premiere of a new arrangement for wind symphony and rock band of Deep Purple’s “Concerto for Group and Orchestra” Sunday evening.
Conductor Duane Carroll describes the performance as “a fusion of classical and rock musicians uniting in an evening of classic rock favorites.”
The show will also feature tunes from The Beatles, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and Led Zeppelin.
The “Classic(al) Rock” concert will be at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. Tickets are $18-$25. Call 943-7469 or go to the theater website.
