The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of a fatal car versus bicycle collision in Alamo on Wednesday after announcing some preliminary details of the crash that afternoon.

CHP-Contra Costa received word of the collision at 11:12 a.m. Wednesday on the Livorna Road underpass beneath I-680, in which they determined that a woman bicycling westbound on the stretch of road was struck by a Toyota bZ3X when the driver who had parked along the road’s right shoulder pulled out into the road. 

The woman was pronounced dead on the scene when first responders arrived, with no injuries sustained by the driver.
