The San Ramon City Council is poised to move toward filling vacancies on two county-wide transit advisory committees at a special meeting this week, with a single applicant for both positions set for an interview with the council.
Recruitment efforts to fill vacancies on the Contra Costa Transit Authority’s Citizens Advisory Committee and the County Connection Advisory Committee have yielded just one application for both positions, from Alexander Agier, in the months since the vacancies were announced.
The CCTA committee vacancy is for a four-year term expiring in June 2027, with the County Connection Committee vacancy for a two-year term that expires in November 2025.
Agier is set to join the council for an application and interview for the positions, with councilmembers poised to take action to fill the positions following the discussion.
The San Ramon City Council is set to meet at 4 p.m. on Tuesday (April 16). The agenda is available here.
In other business, the council is set to hold a workshop on defining a policy with rules of procedures and conduct for the city’s elected and appointed officials.
With no policy on the books currently, the council is set to discuss drafting a framework that is aimed at being a step toward establishing “practices and guidelines for the orderly, consistent, transparent, and fair conduct of City Council meetings, including boards, commissions, and committee meetings,” according to a staff report prepared by City Clerk Christina Franco.Â
“This includes methods of public participation, clarifying agenda order, simplifying parliamentary motions and voting, as well as the process for appointments for boards and commissions,” Franco wrote.
As part of the discussion, officials will look toward a report on best practices for local councils as well as an example policy from Livermore.
