The San Ramon City Council is set to interview applicants for the city’s newly formed Climate Action Plan Citizens’ Task Force.
The task force was established by the council at their Jan. 23 meeting, with the body’s objectives being to facilitate public input on an update to the city’s Climate Action Plan alongside city staff, then to draft a charter for a permanent environmental committee for the council’s consideration.
Of the 24 applications received by the March 17 deadline, 20 were from applicants meeting the qualifications for the seats they were seeking. The pool was narrowed down by the council at their April 23 meeting, with 12 applicants selected for interviews at the upcoming meeting.
The applicants set for interviews with the council this week consist of Aiden Park, Zoe Lu, Sue Bock, Narendra Pal, Matthew O’Connor, Alec Hurd, Corinne Ferreyra, Farrokh Khodadadi, Chris Demibiczak, Ryan Brown, Luz Gomez and Kathleen Truesdell.
The nine seats on the task force consist of one youth seat for a 10th or 11th grade student, one seat for a representative from an environmental nonprofit, one energy industry representative, one construction/landscaping/trades representative, one resident at-large, two alternate residents-at-large, one chamber of commerce or business representative, and one educational or school district representative.Â
Following the interview process, councilmembers will have the opportunity to appoint the nine inaugural members of the new task force.
