A Danville man was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of drug-related charges, including selling to minors, following a search warrant in an investigation spurred by a previous traffic stop, according to police.

Mark Allen, 32, was arrested after the Danville Police Department executed a search warrant of a residence near Camino Ramon and Greenbrook Drive at 10:23 a.m. Thursday and confiscated “significant quantities of illegal drugs”, according to a press release issued by police Friday afternoon.

“This is a situation that put children in our community at risk, and I am extremely proud of the investigative work that led to removing these drugs from circulation,” DPD Chief Allan Shields said in Friday’s announcement. “We look forward to continuing our investigation and assisting the District Attorney’s Office with potential prosecution.”

Allen was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on a $285,000 bail following his arrest on suspicion of charges including selling drugs to a minor, child endangerment, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in addition to the possession, transportation, and sale of illegal drugs.

Police seized drugs and paraphernalia including methamphetamine, prescription pills, and concentrated THC vaporizers.

DPD officials said that the warrant and arrest stemmed from a traffic stop in which they’d also discovered and seized illegal drugs, going on to obtain the search warrant executed Thursday morning as part of an ongoing investigation. No further information was available as of Friday afternoon.
