The San Ramon Valley Unified School District’s Board of Education is set to meet with consultants in a special meeting Monday morning to discuss further details of the district’s recruitment of a new superintendent amid the upcoming departure of current Superintendent John Malloy.

The board, district staff, and representatives from the recruitment firm Leadership Associates are set to discuss tentative plans and timeline for the search process and offer feedback before implementing the search.

According to the proposed timeline from Leadership Associates up for discussion at the upcoming board meeting, the community engagement period of the search process would be implemented starting with an online survey open from Wednesday (March 13) through March 22 aimed at identifying what qualities matter most to the district community in their next leader.

Advertisements for the position would be posted on March 18 and March 25, according to the proposed plan. Consultants would then hold conversations with district staff and community members identified by the board and seek input from March 20 through March 25, with the application deadline set for April 3, according to the current proposal.

Consultants would conduct background and reference checks on applicants in the first half of April before reviewing applications with the board at an April 18 meeting, then conducting interviews at special meetings on April 27 and April 28 before approving a final contract at a regular meeting on May 14, for a start date of July 1.

The SRVUSD Board of Education is set to meet at 8 a.m. on Monday (March 11). The agenda is available here.
