John Baldwin Elementary had the best auction, Coyote Creek had the best matching funds program, and Hidden Hills had the best communication with parents.
These efforts were all noted when the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation held a first-of-its-kind summit to educate schools on how to better fundraise and how to operate their individual school foundations.
The event, called “Education Fundraising U,” was held at Dougherty Valley High School on Oct. 30 and attracted more than 100 parents and school leaders from more than 35 schools. Nearly every school in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District attended as well as schools from as far away as San Bruno, Redwood Shores, Novato. Organizers of the event said they plan to hold it annually.
The foundation also handed out its yearly school affiliate awards, which are available to the 23 schools in the district that are affiliated with San Ramon Valley Education Foundation.
The school winners were:
• Best Annual Auction – John Baldwin
• Best Registration Fundraising – Stone Valley
• Best Matching Funds Program – Coyote Creek
• Best E-Scrip Program – Charlotte Wood
• Best Fundraising Concepts – Greenbrook
• Best Communications with Parents – Hidden Hills
• Most Improved SRVEF Affiliate – Live Oak
• SRVEF Affiliate of the Year – Hidden Hills & John Baldwin
The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation supports and promotes education in the community in partnership with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. SRVEF provides supplemental funds and support to enhance and enrich the education of students in the San Ramon Valley.
The foundation’s largest fundraiser, the Primo’s Run for Education, attracted record crowds this year and raised more than $200,000 in net proceeds.
