The Danville Baseball Academy 13U Crushers won the league championship this past weekend.

They won their first three games, beating the top seed to get to the finals on Sunday in which they had to be beaten twice. They lost game 1 of the finals, and then bounced back in the nightcap, a 6 p.m. start, and won 10-2.

“The boys played inspired baseball,” said mom Jennifer Lechner. “Some of the boys have been with us for four years, and for some this is their first year. Each boy has drastically improved, and that is what the organization is all about. ”

The organization has had at least one league champion each of the past three years, she said.

Team members are Daniel Kim, Michael Theisen, Justin Roper, Gabe Lechner, Harley McKee, Danny Oliner, Evan Wise, Mason Mundy, Josh Rego, Kevin Tieck, Justice delos Santos, Jordan Esling and Cameron Atkinson. Coaches are Matt Crudale and Matt McEnerney.
