A man accused of committing recent home burglaries in Alamo is now in jail custody after authorities arrested him near Orinda late last week.

Kyle Facchin, 30, of Walnut Creek is being held in the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of residential burglary, narcotics possession, resisting arrest and impersonating another person, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jimmy Lee.

Authorities last month identified Facchin as the primary suspect in a July 5 break-in at a home on Neely Court in Alamo. Investigators also reported he is a suspect in other residential burglaries in Alamo and south Contra Costa County.

Facchin remained at-large until being caught Friday afternoon, according to Lee.

The arrest came in the wake of Orinda police receiving a call about a residential burglary on Muth Drive around 1:45 p.m. that day, Lee said.

The suspect, later identified as Facchin, left the scene before police arrived, but an officer soon spotted Facchin near Highway 24 and Saint Stephens Drive, according to Lee.

Authorities allege Facchin ran from police but was caught following a short chase, with the help of Lafayette police and the California Highway Patrol. He was booked into the county jail and is being held without bail, according to Lee.
