Danville’s sixth annual juried exhibition, set to open Friday at the Village Theatre and Art Gallery, will feature a variety of original works in different mediums that showcase artists’ creative interpretations of this year’s theme, “A Walk in the Park.”

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, this year’s exhibition will include images and sculptures made from and inspired by parks and objects found in parks.

Heather Marx will be judging the artwork at “A Walk in the Park.” She has over 20 years of experience in the fine art industry, including private, public and corporate art development, acquisition and curatorial projects, and she founded a contemporary art gallery based in San Francisco.

An opening reception for the new exhibition is scheduled for this Friday (Aug. 26) from 5-7 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be served. The exhibit runs through Oct. 15. Artwork in the exhibition will be for sale.
