Educators in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District have the opportunity to apply for three types of grants from the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation this year.
The grant opportunities fall into three categories: educator grants, music grants and science grants. Cumulatively, the grants total over $150,000.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 17.
Educator grants are funded by the SRVEF Run for Education and this year are part of a partnership between the SRVEF and DonorsChoose.org. Full-time credentialed staff (or two educators sharing a full-time position) can apply for these grants of up to $1,000, and can be used for all subject areas, including field trips, special visitors and professional development.
Because SRVEF’s technology initiative is funding technologies for student use, though, applications for iPads and laptops and such won’t be considered in this grant cycle.
Science grants are supported by local donors, and are intended to be used towards long-term activities and programs that work to increase student interest, experiences and success in science. Each individual grant can be for amounts of up to $5,000.
Music grants are also supported by local donors and are intended for long-term music activities and programs that aim to increase student access to and interest in learning music. These individual grants are also up to $5,000.
