Young people in Contra Costa County will have the opportunity to travel throughout the county all summer long on the cheap, with a special summer youth pass courtesy the region’s top local transit agencies.

511 Contra Costa, County Connection, Tri Delta Transit and WestCAT have teamed up for the special ride program and will be offering young people aged 6 to 18 unlimited bus rides effective now through Aug. 31, for a one-time purchase of $35 — a $25 reduction in price from a regular pass.

In a statement announcing the special pass, officials from 511 Contra Costa said the affordable and convenient youth pass offers the perfect opportunity for county youth to reach summer jobs, take a class, join extracurricular activities and enjoy a number of their favorite summer activities held in destinations throughout Contra Costa County.

“We are excited to work in partnership with 511 Contra Costa, County Connection, and WestCAT so that the youth of Contra Costa County can experience all the area has to offer,” Tri Delta Transit’s CEO Jeanne Krieg said in a statement.

Passes can be purchased online at the new 511 Contra Costa Online Store, or in person at the administrative offices of County Connection, Tri Delta Transit or WestCAT.
