The online system for paying traffic tickets in Contra Costa County will be out of service for two weeks — but drivers worried about being late can ask for an extension.
The shutdown is needed to upgrade the system, the Contra Costa Superior Court said Friday.
The court will temporarily suspend online traffic payment services from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. on July 13.
“During this time, members of the public may pay in person,” the court said. “Alternatively, they may request a two-week extension by calling (925) 608-1000 and following the prompts for traffic.”
To finish the upgrade, the court’s traffic case management systems will be unavailable and inaccessible from 12 p.m. on July 10 until 7 a.m. on July 13, the court said.
