There’s a new police chief in town for Danville, with Allan Shields retiring from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office – but taking a new position with the town at the conclusion of his eight-year tenure as chief – and his successor Thomas Rossberg taking the reins of the Danville Police Department effective Dec. 31.
Teen killed in crash on Del Valle Road
A 17-year-old boy died after the BMW he was driving crashed into a tree alongside Del Valle Road in Livermore on Saturday evening, according to the CHP.

State predicts increased allocations to water agencies
Following a series of storms that moved through Northern California in recent weeks, the California Dept. of Water Resources announced it has increased its water allocations to the 29 public water agencies that are served by the State Water Project, which includes the Tri-Valley’s Zone 7 Water Agency.
