The San Ramon Police Department is continuing to patrol the area around Hidden Hills Elementary School in San Ramon after responding to reports of a man taking pictures of families, students, and license plates early Monday morning, but have concluded that he was not committing any crimes at the time.
Police and the school’s principal responded Monday, with SRPD focusing their patrols on the area and investigating the incident, ultimately making contact with the man.
“The safety of our staff and students is of the utmost priority,” Hidden Hills Principal Melody Huynh said in a message to the school community later Monday morning. “We appreciate the staff and parents who brought this to our attention.”
While SRPD did not find any foul play upon investigation, they echoed Huynh’s emphasis on the importance of protecting children and reporting suspicious circumstances to authorities.
“Our units will continue to patrol the area when available,” SRPD Lt. Tammy Williams said. “We take the safety of our community, specifically our children, very seriously.”
