The San Ramon City Council is set to vote this week on a new Climate Action Plan that has been in the works for several years after the adoption of an initial resolution calling for the update in 2021.

The city-initiated draft update comes to the council as part of its General Plan 2040 update –  which was initially approved in 2023 – and seeks to incorporate updated information on climate change, sustainability practices, and emissions goals that have changed since the adoption of the current Climate Action Plan in 2011.

The proposed update was guided by feedback in a community survey starting in 2023, as well as more than a year of work by the Climate Action Task Force following its inception at the start of 2024 and feedback from the Planning Commission at its May 6 meeting. A 30-day public review and feedback period on the proposed update was held from April 16 to May 15.

The San Ramon CIty Council is set to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday (June 10). The agenda is available here.
