More than four years after opening its doors in downtown Danville, the bar and restaurant Virtue + Vice is poised to serve its final meals and drinks this weekend.
The restaurant announced the closure in a social media post Tuesday, with staff and management reflecting on the business’s accomplishments since opening its doors at 267 Hartz Ave. in the spring of 2022 and gearing up for its final day on Saturday.
“As we approach our final service, we would love to welcome you back one more time to enjoy your favorites, raise a glass, and celebrate everything we’ve shared together,” the Virtue + Vice team wrote on Instagram this week.
The business’s time in Danville has seen the creation of 14 different menus, more than 100 different cocktails, and more than $100,000 raised for local nonprofits.
“Some of our proudest moments also happened on Wednesday nights through our Dine for a Cause program,” Virtue + Vice management wrote this week. “We are incredibly grateful to the local organizations and community partners who joined us over the years and helped us raise more than $100,000 to give back to the community that gave so much to us.”
The restaurant was founded by owner and culinary director Sarabjit Bajaj with the aim of taking diners on a “culinary journey” of fusion comfort foods from around the world driven by seasonal menus and Bajaj’s “extensive experience in hospitality hotspots across the globe.”
Having that culinary vision brought to life was among the restaurant’s accomplishments, but what the local community brought to the table was also on the minds of Virtue + Vice management in its final days in business.
“To everyone who walked through our doors — whether you came for a special occasion, a favorite dish or cocktail, dinner with friends, or simply became one of the familiar faces we looked forward to seeing—thank you,” Virtue + Vice management said. “Your support is what made Virtue + Vice so much more than a restaurant.”
“As we approach our final service, we would love to welcome you back one more time to enjoy your favorites, raise a glass, and celebrate everything we’ve shared together,” they continued.
