Assemblyman Guy Houston named Primo’s Pizza and Pasta owners Jack, Linda and John Rhodes as the 2005 Small Business of the Year. The family business has been at its original location on Hartz Avenue and Diablo Road for almost 25 years. Every year Primo’s hosts its Run for Education, a fundraising event to benefit the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, which provides annual grants for local schools. Since the run began in 1983, more than $1.8 million has been raised.

“Primo’s has been a household name in the San Ramon Valley for over 20 years,” said Houston. “Jack, Linda and John are great people, with a great restaurant, and an outstanding commitment to the community. It’s my honor to select Primo’s as the Small Business of the Year.”

This year’s 5K and half-marathon “Run for Education” is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 9. Contact the fun hotline at 820-9181 or visit http://www.primosrun.com.
