Livermore Valley Arts has announced the headliner for its annual marquee fundraising gala Brilliance at the Bankhead: American singer, songwriter and actress Katharine McPhee.
After arriving on the scene with her runner-up finish on the fifth season of “American Idol” in 2006, McPhee has released a series of successful albums across multiple genres, co-starred in network television dramas “Smash” and “Scorpion” and performed on Broadway as the lead in “Waitress”.
“From her electrifying performances on Broadway to her chart-topping hits, Katharine McPhee has mesmerized audiences around the globe with her powerful voice and magnetic stage presence. Now, she brings her star power to Brilliance at The Bankhead, promising an unforgettable night of music, magic and memories,” LVA officials said in a statement Monday.
Calling her “a beacon of talent and versatility in the entertainment industry,” LVA officials noted that McPhee has sung with a “powerhouse presence” on concert stages across the world while showcasing her talents with pop, jazz and adult contemporary music.
Brilliance at the Bankhead, set for Sept. 7 in downtown Livermore, serves as the largest fundraising event of the year for LVA, supporting the nonprofit’s programming at the Bankhead Theater and Bothwell Arts Center as well as its educational and cultural arts activities. The gala will also include a gourmet dinner, raffle prizes, and live and silent auctions.
The event is also positioned as the launchpad for the 2024-25 Bankhead Presents series – the lineup of which is scheduled to be announced on April 17.
