A 59-year-old Rio Vista woman was found dead Friday morning in Contra Costa County’s West County Detention Facility in Richmond, the sheriff’s office said.
A deputy was conducting safety checks about 12:24 a.m. when she saw the woman with a ligature around her neck, the sheriff’s office said.
The woman was identified as Robi Lynn Perley, who was being held on a warrant for driving under the influence and probation violation, the sheriff’s office said.
Perley was taken into custody Thursday (July 9) by the Antioch Police Department. She was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility at about 1:30 p.m..
The woman’s death will be investigated by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
