Election Day finally arrives on Tuesday, bringing with it the final decisions from voters on more than 30 local elected offices and ballot measures across the Tri-Valley – let alone the major outcomes on state propositions and national candidates.

Here closer to home, tight mayoral races in Pleasanton and Dublin will set the stage for those cities for the next two years, City Council majorities in Pleasanton and Livermore could flip or they could strengthen, the fate of Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price will be decided and all five local school boards have contested seats up to be claimed.

Tax measures are on the docket amid budget concerns cited by the city of Pleasanton (0.5% sales tax, Measure PP), city of San Ramon (1% sales tax, Measure N) and San Ramon Valley Unified School District (annual parcel tax renewal, Measure Q). Measure II, related to the potential Dublin Boulevard extension, is on city ballots in Dublin but could impact traffic, development and quality of life across the southern Tri-Valley.

Local voters will also help decide one State Assembly, two State Senate and two U.S. House of Representatives seats, plus a handful of special district positions and the U.S. Senate contest with a Democrat who’s a Monte Vista High School alumnus.
