The official start of the new academic and fiscal year for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District July 1 ushered in a number of contract changes throughout the district and marked the first day of work for four new principals.
SRVUSD officials posted on social media last month welcoming the four new leaders to their respective positions: Karen Johnson at Neil Armstrong Elementary School, Andi Calloway at Quail Run Elementary School, Beth Louderback at Montair Elementary School, and Jami Greer at Stone Valley Middle School.
“We are thrilled to welcome these incredible leaders to their new roles and look forward to a fantastic school year ahead,” SRVUSD officials said.
All four new principals are coming into the positions following assistant principal roles, with Johnson being promoted from assistant principal at Neil Armstrong, where she has served for the past two years.
“During her time at Neil Armstrong, she has made a significant impact on school culture and climate,” SRVUSD Superintendent CJ Cammack said.
Calloway is departing from her assistant principal role at Diablo Valley Middle School, with Louderback coming to the district from Pleasanton Middle School and Greer from Miramonte High School.
While Calloway’s appointment is an internal move within the district, she made her return to SRVUSD two years ago following a foray into Pleasanton Unified School District, where she served as coordinator of student services for three years after working as a student support counselor at Gale Ranch Middle School.
“She is known for her ability to balance compassion with accountability and consistency, and staff believe she will be a strong and supportive leader for the Quail Run Elementary community,” Cammack said.
Lauderback’s appointment and move to SRVUSD mark the culmination of a five-year administrative career at PUSD and more than 27 years in education, including classroom experience and extensive work with elementary schools.
“Throughout her career, Beth has demonstrated a strong commitment to data-driven leadership and continuous improvement of instructional systems,” Cammack said. “She is deeply passionate about curriculum development and instructional coherence, and she consistently works to align systems, schedules, and structures to maximize student learning and protect instructional time.”
Greer is the only newcomer to the Tri-Valley in the batch, having served as an English teacher and accreditation coordinator at other Accalanes United High School District sites prior to landing her administrative role at Miramonte four years ago, as well as a teacher on special assignment at Aragon and Burlingame high schools in the San Mateo Unified School District.
The start of the month also marked the departure of the four outgoing principals, with Bassant Abelrahman having announced her resignation from Quail Run earlier this year, Megan Keefer retiring from Montair, and former Neil Armstrong principal Jared Gagnon and former Stone Valley principal Justin White moving into leadership positions with the district, according to Superintendent CJ Camack.
