The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau has released the identity of the Livermore woman who died in a solo motorcycle crash down a ravine along Del Valle Road during the Independence Day weekend.

The decedent was identified as Aileen Perez.

Perez, 26, was an employee at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, lab officials confirmed Tuesday afternoon to Livermore Vine.

She had worked as a software developer for about five years at the lab, according to her Linkedin profile. Among her duties, Perez developed, debugged and maintained software environments on high-performance computing systems.

A call regarding the fatal crash in unincorporated Livermore just south of Mines Road near Del Valle Regional Park came in just before 11:40 a.m. Friday (July 3) to the California Highway Patrol, CHP Officer Tyler Hahn said.

A preliminary investigation showed that Perez lost control of the vehicle, crashed and was ejected approximately 200 feet down a ravine, according to Hahn. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident can contact the CHP-Dublin Office at 925-828-0466.
