Diablo Trail construction
What Danville officials called “the largest and most impactful phase of construction” on the Diablo Road Multi-Use Trail project kicked off this month, with construction and traffic impacts on the current phase set to be ongoing for months to come.
The project currently involves the installation of retaining walls alongside Green Valley Creek, requiring traffic controls through approximately Oct. 15 on Diablo Road between Fairway Drive and Alameda Diablo.
The town is set to complete its portion of the multi-use trail by the end of the year, which is ultimately aimed at providing access between the Barbara Hale Trail and Mount Diablo State Park. A private developer is set to construct the eastern portion, which is on primarily flat terrain.

30th anniversary for Heller Jewelers
One of City Center Bishop Ranch’s most prominent tenants is set to celebrate its pearl anniversary next week, marking 30 years of business in San Ramon that started off at its original location in the north of the city at Magnolia Square.
“This year represents our 30th year in business, and after 30 years, Heller Jewelers has become more than just a jewelry store,” the Heller family said in an announcement from City Center. “It’s a place where families create memories that will last for generations, where milestones are celebrated, and a place where love is honored.”
The business is set to celebrate with a ribbon cutting and anniversary event on Thursday (Aug. 20) at 5 p.m.
“We reflect with gratitude on our journey—from our beginnings to who we are today—and the remarkable people who have shaped Heller Jewelers along the way,” the Heller family said. “We are honored to be part of your special moments, today and for years to come.”
‘The Magic Flute‘
The town of Danville will be receiving a visit from musicians with Santa Clara-based Bach-Millennium Music this weekend as the group brings its production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” to the San Ramon Valley.
The group will take to the road for a Saturday performance at the Village Theatre after debuting the production at their home venue at Santa Clara University on Friday, and before returning for a second home performance Sunday.
“Mozart’s final operatic masterpiece combines sublime music with timeless themes of love, wisdom, and the triumph of light over darkness,” Bach-Millennium organizers wrote on their website. “Our production brings together singers, orchestra, and staging in a celebration of this beloved work.”
The performance will be sung in German, with dialogues and supertitles in English.
