The San Ramon Planning Commission is set to hold public hearings on requests from developers for two different housing projects in the pipeline for the Bishop Ranch neighborhood.

Both amendments seek to formalize the transfer of affordable housing units accounted for in their development applications to the city’s recently approved Eden Housing project.

The plan to transfer affordable units from other Bishop Ranch housing projects to the Eden project has been underway since the affordable project was initially introduced to the city last year, and is something referred to often by all parties involved during public hearings on the project.

However, the proposed amendments up for commission review this week would formalize that process for two projects, at Bishop Ranch 3  and Bishop Ranch 11.

Under the proposed amendment, the 195-unit project from Trumark Homes slated for Bishop Ranch 11 would be discharged of its obligation to include 29 affordable units as part of its original application. The 456-unit Avalon Bay project slated for Bishop Ranch 3A would be off the hook for 69 affordable units.

Commissioners are poised to vote on both amendments following public hearings at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 21). The agenda is available here.
