A woman riding a motorcycle died after a crash Tuesday afternoon in Livermore, according to police.

The Alameda County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday identified the woman as Janelle Benson Weispfenning, a 50-year-old Livermore resident. She died in the crash reported around 1 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Stanley Boulevard and Isabel Avenue, also known as state Highway 84.

A preliminary investigation determined that Benson Weispfenning was riding a sport bike north on Isabel and allegedly did not stop at a red light, then collided in the intersection with a gray sedan turning left, Livermore police said.

Benson Weispfenning was taken to a hospital but died there, while a 87-year-old Pleasanton woman driving the sedan was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and has since been released, according to police.
