“The fighting tenth is one of the most interesting districts in California,” Rep. John Garamendi (D-Walnut Grove) recently told comedian Stephen Colbert on “The Colbert Report.”
In the segment “Better Know a District,” Garamendi answers questions about the 10th district, which runs from Dixon to Livermore, and simultaneously denies requests to see pictures of Osama Bin Laden’s corpse while being called Gary.
“Garamendi has been doing this for 40 years, he knows almost every issue and he knew to be himself,” said Public Information Officer Donald Lathbury, adding that the congressman was not given questions ahead of time.
Lathbury said Garamendi agreed to appear on the “Colbert Report” because the program has a far-reaching audience that includes thousands of people in the tenth district.
