An ex-San Ramon Police officer involved in a high profile scandal was arrested at his home in Discovery Bay last week on charges of misdemeanor battery and felony threats.

Louis Lombardi, 39, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 after Contra Costa County Sheriffs received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at his home on Willow Lake Road.

“As a result of the investigation Louis Lombardi was arrested for making terrorists threats and for spousal battery,” said Sheriff’s Spokesman Jimmy Lee.

Lee could not comment on the nature of Lombardi’s threats and did not know the extent of the spouse’s injuries. Lombardi is being held in the Martinez Detention Facility on $1 million bail on charges of misdemeanor battery and felony criminal threats.

A former member of the Contra Costa County Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), Lombardi was arrested on May 4 after a search of his home linked the officer to an illegal drug sale and dirty DUI operation that is now being investigated by the federal government. He is charged with accessory, aiding and abetting; conspiracy; grand theft; possession of stolen property and possession of an illegal assault rifle.

A member of CNET since 2005, Lombardi joined the San Ramon Police Department in 2007. His lawyer did not return calls for comment.
