A Walnut Creek woman was killed in a solo vehicle crash Saturday morning in Contra Costa County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim, 44-year-old Ma Laguno, was driving east on Treat Boulevard near Cherry Lane, in an unincorporated area northeast of Walnut Creek, when she swerved off the roadway and struck a light pole around 6:30 a.m., according to the CHP.
She was taken to John Muir Medical Center, where she was declared dead.
It is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol played a role in this collision, and the cause remains under investigation. Any witnesses are asked
