The Contra Costa County Superior Court is seeking public input about its proposed draft local court rules.
The public has until Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. to comment on the document. Court officials said the new rules will take effect Jan. 1, 2015
In the draft document, a variety of local court rules have been reorganized or amended to resemble the structure and format of the California Rules of Court.
In addition, there have been changes to the rule numbers or headings (highlighted in yellow within the document), such as:
* Changing “Manner of selecting prospects” to “Selection of Prospective Jurors”
* Renaming the category “Jurors shall not work” as “Employment While Serving as Juror”
Proposed changes to rule text are indicated by an editing bubble to the right of the text, within the document.
Any citizen interested in commenting on the proposed changes should send emails to mediainfo@contracosta.courts.ca.gov.
