Crews are set to begin work next week to bring a concrete sidewalk to Danville’s small dog park at Hap Magee Ranch Park, according to town officials.
The project, aimed at improving accessibility, will add a sidewalk from the parking lot to the front entrance to the small dog park, officials said.
“We’ve received requests from users regarding accessibility to the small dog park, and this is designed to help with that,” said Jed Johnson, town maintenance services director. “This project will make it easier for residents and their pets to get to the small dog enclosure.”
Temporary fencing will be installed along the existing path starting on Tuesday (Nov. 4). A section of the trail will remain open and users will be able to take their pets to the dog park’s rear entrance, officials said.
The dog park will remain open throughout the sidewalk construction, according to town officials. Crews are expected to dig and pour the new sidewalk during the week, with work to be completed by the weekend, weather permitting.
