The San Ramon Art & Wind Festival blows into town this holiday weekend, bringing kites, artwork and music to the San Ramon Central Park.
The festival will run Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the park, 12501 Alcosta Blvd.
The annual San Ramon Art & Wind Festival features choreographed kite demonstrations, a kite-making demonstration and arts and crafts vendors.
Four stages will feature various entertainment acts ranging from jazz performances to kung fu demonstrations to puppet shows, and two large children’s areas will hold rides, face painting, a rock-climbing wall and a giant hamster ball.
Organizers stated the festival is centered around the kite demonstrations, which are led by members of the American Kitefliers Association. Brian Champie, past association regional director and the 2002 National Champion in Masters Precision Flying, will be headlining the demonstration.
Attendees will also get the chance to ride in the REMAX hot air balloon. The balloon will host free rides both days during the entirety of the festival, but organizers recommend arriving early to avoid the long lines that form for rides.
One of the booths at the festival will be Dougherty Valley High School freshman Vivek Annadata’s bone marrow registry drive. The local freshman is set to run a booth for the national “Be the Match” donor registry nonprofit.

For ALL 21 and over be sure to stop by the SAN RAMON VALLEY ROTARY NARGARITA Booth for that refreshing drink to help support our “Service Above Self” projects in making a difference in our community and around the world. We appreciate your support. See you there this weekend.
