Learn about the services that law enforcement provides to the community at the San Ramon Police Department’s Youth Academy.
For those considering a career in law enforcement, or who want to learn more about the valuable services the police department provides, apply for the Youth Academy to expand your knowledge on search and seizure, laws in schools, drug and alcohol recognition, crime scene investigation, traffic stops, DUI enforcement, officer use of force, officer safety, community policing and defensive tactics. There will also be a K-9 demonstration. Classes are taught by police officers and department personnel in their area of expertise.
This inside look at local law enforcement meets daily for two weeks, June 19-22 and June 26-29, and is designed to promote good citizenship through criminal justice education. Eligible applicants are residents of San Ramon, between grades 8 and 12, have no felony convictions, and no misdemeanor arrests within the last two years. Selections are made by the Chief of Police or his designee.
