Four people have been arrested after a search warrant in Danville turned up drugs, weapons and cash. The search warrant came about after allegations that the occupants of the home at 244 St. Christopher Drive were selling marijuana out of the home.
More than four pounds of marijuana, along with hashish, a small amount of cocaine, 20 ecstasy (MDMA) tablets were turned up by agents from the Central Contra Costa County Narcotic Enforcement Team (CCCNET) and officers from Danville and San Ramon police.
Police also found 17 firearms, ranging from assault weapons to shotguns and pistols, $10,000 cash and a honey oil converter, used to extract THC from marijuana.
Bryan Fugate, 32, and Andrea Newell, 22 were charged with possession of marijuana for sale and being armed in the commission of a felony. Rob Hayes, 30, was charged with possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a dangerous weapon — brass knuckles — and possession of a firearm by a felon. Brandon Gunn, 20, was charged with possession of MDMA for sale, possession of cocaine and probation violation.
Although all four residents had current or expired medical marijuana cards, police said two of them were selling marijuana, which is what prompted the search.
Police left 12 marijuana plants at the home due to Proposition 215, which allows people to grow it for their personal use as medical marijuana.
The search and arrests took place Thursday morning.

As for the article…well lets just say it took long enough. Maybe the Danville Weekly staff were encouraged by previous comments, which ever the case…thank you Danville Weekly staff and especially Emly for bringing this information out to the Danville folks.
Now the next DPD info should be about the fool that robbed the First Republic Bank in Danville.

What is truly amazing is that most police reports get more feedback than this one has generated. Assault weapons just a couple of blocks from an elementary school and middle school? The medical pot does not alarm me but the weapons do. We do not need 20 year olds running through our neighborhood with more arms than the Danville PD. These young people need some serious jail time.
Anyone know if this is a rental house? Hopefully so, and with luck the landlord will get a clue and start eviction proceedings. If these four a$$hats are in jail, maybe he/she won’t need to.
As long as our men in blue are out doing something more exciting than staking out stop signs, perhaps they should check out the house at the corner of Glen Arms Drive and Neva Court (off Laurel). Something very fishy with this place – never mind that it is the eyesore of the entire area. Don’t believe me? Do a mapquest or plug in your Magellan and drive by.
It doesn’t seem to be “A Beautiful Day in the Greenbrook HOA Neighborhood,” as it once was.
The most interesting thing about this article (to me) is that all four of the mentioned individuals had medical marijuana cards, illustrating the ongoing sham of the current medicinal marijuana laws. I wonder which doctor approved the medical marijuana cards for these individuals, and for what alleged medical conditions. I sincerely doubt that all four are growing and smoking medicinal marijuana to relieve the symptoms of chemo- or radiation therapy (a very legitimate use of medicinal marijuana). Perhaps they have asthma, or suffer from “headaches”, both of which tend to interfere with their pursuit of other criminal activities. Perhaps being busted brought on a new bout of asthma, or a particularly bad headache. If that was the case, I hope the police allowed them one last toke, for their “medical condition”…..
For that matter, given the non-trivial number of our local high school students who have legally-issued medical marijuana cards, issued by legalization activist-doctors for a variety of no-doubt critical medical reasons, I guess I should not be surprised.

If found guilty, lock them up and throw away key. Then bill four sets of parents for the total costs of this disgusting criminal behavior.

To all the hypocrites of Contra Costa County,
I think it is safe to say that at LEAST half of the residents of this county either smoke and/or grow marijuana OR possess a firearm of one variety or another. A few of these comments seem to come from people that (for some unknown reason) think they are better than everyone else, which certainly is not the case if they feel the need to disrespect and discredit the families of these individuals, whom I also presume they do not know.
All the pill popping soccer moms should find something better to do than waste their time circulating rumors and contributing to unnecessary drama, and concentrate on raising your own children rather than criticizing others.

I can obviously see that you aren’t all “gung-ho” on this situation but i still don’t feel like it’s right for you to be wrongfully slandering them. People make stupid mistakes, and were already arrested in front of their whole community, that should be enough embarrassment. It’s already looked down upon and theres ways you can state your point without being unnecessarily rude. Especially if they are unaware that you are speaking of them. It’s called gossip and thats looked down upon also. I may not be a fully-educated person but hating on them so strongly isn’t needed.

From personal knowledge, I can tell you that one of these punks does not have a legitimate need for a medical marijuana card and this is his 3rd run in with the law. This is not judgement without the facts, nor gossip – this is absolute fact.
How ironic is it that the lead detective Norman Wielsch (CCCNET) was arrested this week with 25 felony counts including transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, embezzlement, burglary and conspiracy. It appears we all should be more worried about the law enforcement individuals who we pay to employ. It’s all a little shady…….just saying!
