Danville’s Montair Elementary School celebrated Red Ribbon Week on Thursday with a rocking performance by Iron Horse Middle School eighth graders who touted music as their “natural high.”
Montair Elementary students, including third grader Eric Housen, rocked out to Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way,” “Rock Me like a Hurricane” by Scorpions and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
Guitarist Josh Frazier and drummer Logan Rains encouraged students to pick friends with a positive influence and make good choices.
“My natural high is playing guitar because it’s fun and it keeps me active,” said Josh.
Third grader Maria Reyes said her natural high is making new friends.
Thursday’s concert was the second held at Montair and was well-received both years, according to School Program Coordinator Kerry Sloss organized the event for the second time.
