A newly implemented state law has resulted in the Contra Costa County Superior Court expanding language interpreter services to five new case types.
The court had already provided interpreters for parties in criminal, traffic, juvenile, family law domestic violence and elder abuse cases, officials said.
With the passage of Assembly Bill 1657, the court now offers interpreter services for civil harassment, unlawful detainer, actions to terminate parental rights, conservatorship and guardianship cases. The changes took effect Wednesday, officials said.
For more information or to apply to be assigned an interpreter, visit the court website.

Disgusting article. Is this to help the illegals being FLOWN in by Obama and the libtards to destroy our country!!?
This fits with gov. moonbeams policy of providing drivers licenses to illegal aliens. The libs want more illegals; who knows, maybe they will vote liberal too, after all no voter I.D. is needed. Our state and country is circling the drain from liberal “progressive” politics.
Completely agree with resident. Illiterate and criminal elements are being imported to change our country. SWAWELL believes in redistribution of weLth a Marxist concept. Way to go fools who voted him back in.
Nearly all of the membership being present and commenting, I hereby call this meeting of the Damaged Ceramics Club to order. Has anyone seen Julia from Alamo?
J.B. & others with the failed “progressive” liberal viewpoint are in a downward spiral in the U.S. just look at the last election, the tide is now turning.
Let’s call progressives what they are—Marxists. Some are soft Socialists. The Jonathan Gruber video releases about the ACA SCAM should have made a few see how stupid they ha e been.
