Police are continuing to investigate an explosion that occurred near downtown Danville on Sunday night.
At approximately 7:12 p.m. Sunday evening, police were dispatched to the Smart & Final supermarket in Danville, 460 Diablo Road, responding to reports of a small explosion in the shopping center’s parking lot.
No injuries were reported during the incident but two vehicles were damaged when an “unknown device” exploded, said Police Chief Allan Shields.
Police are continuing the investigation and are working to determine the cause as well as identifying any suspects associated with the small explosion.
Chief Shields also mentioned that no suspect information is available yet.
