Coco’s Restaurant bit the dust last week at 387 Diablo Road as the demolition crew made way for a new 9,000-square-foot headquarters for Diablo Valley Bank, replacing the branch on Railroad Avenue and the corporate office in Alamo. Jack Hounslow, chairman of Diablo Valley Bank, estimates the new headquarters will open in the winter of 2006, although he hopes construction will begin within three months. This was once the site of Bob’s Big Boy, complete with a massive statue in front of the Big Boy himself holding aloft a hamburger.
