Asked at the Chevron station on Hartz Avenue

Victor Nuno, tree trimmer: It’s not a big, big deal because we can afford it. But it affects people when they come up a little short at the grocery store. I think the prices are going up because of the war in Iraq. That’s the only thing I can think of to cause this rise in prices. To people who don’t travel to the other parts of the world it may seem like a lot, but elsewhere, like in Mexico, they pay more.

Hannah Ulbrich, high school teacher: Not at all, because my car is pretty gas efficient. My husband’s is not, so the only thing is that we try to take mine instead of his. But I can still fill up for under $25.

Tom Hussey, Realtor: I haven’t changed my driving habits, but we were thinking of getting a larger SUV in the next three to four months. But now we’re scaling back to a mid-size SUV.

Steve White, investor: No. Maybe I’m not driving as frivolously, like not going to see if that book is in the bookstore versus calling them.

Andree Sehrt, homemaker, and former health care administrator

: No, we haven’t, only because we live in the Danville community and everything is close and so convenient. Everything that you need is within a mile or two. I think if we lived somewhere else, it would be different.
