The Danville Town Council is set to hear an update this week on recruitment efforts for a number of vacant seats on the town’s commissions and advisory boards, as well as presenting proclamations recognizing next week as National Library Week and April as Alcohol Awareness Month.
There are a total of 18 volunteer positions with the town that remain unfilled, with applications open through May 22. Interviews are scheduled for June 10 and June 17, with appointments also scheduled for June 17.
The positions consist of three seats on the Heritage Resource Commission, five seats on the Parks, Recreation, and Arts Commission, youth representatives for the parks commission and Arts Advisory Board, three seats on the Senior Advisory Commission, and one seat on the Design Review Board.
The town is also seeking local members to appoint to the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority Citizen Advisory Committee, as well as a poet laureate and youth poet.

*The council is set to appoint a member of the Bicycle Advisory Commission to the Contra Costa County Iron Horse Corridor Management Program Advisory Committee.
*Vice Mayor Newell Arnerich is set to provide a quarterly Street Smarts Board member report.
*Councilmember Roger Storer is set to provide a quarterly County Connection Board member report.
