Westamerica Bank has inked a lease agreement to become the newest tenant for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District as owner and landlord of the Canyon Commons Corporate Plaza in San Ramon.
Signage recently added to the first-floor bank unit at 3130 Crow Canyon Place, which has been empty since First Republic Bank vacated the space, revealed that Westamerica Bank expects to open its first San Ramon branch there next month.
SRVUSD Superintendent CJ Cammack confirmed the timeline to DanvilleSanRamon on Friday.
“We would also like to welcome Westamerica Bank as our newest tenant, with plans to open in November. SRVUSD entered into a lease agreement with the bank after taking ownership of the property, and we look forward to an ongoing partnership,” Cammack said.
Officials from San Rafael-based Westamerica Bank hadn’t responded to a request for comment as of Monday morning.
The four-story building, which the school district purchased last year for $18 million to house its headquarters and provide rental income, is now 98% occupied with just one four-office suite at approximately 1,530 square feet empty and available for lease, according to Cammack.
That occupancy count now includes SRVUSD itself, with district officials completing its headquarters relocation from Danville into Canyon Commons last week.

“The district office move has been a successful but intensive process. We relocated in phases over three days to minimize departmental downtime and coordinate technology support,” Cammack said. “We are grateful to our staff for their flexibility and teamwork throughout the transition, recognizing that a change of this magnitude can be a challenge. We also appreciate our community’s patience and understanding as we settle in and resume operations in our new space.”
SRVUSD’s former headquarters property at 699 Old Orchard Drive in Danville is now closed to the public, other than that Board of Education meetings will still be held there through the end of the 2026-27 academic year.
The district plans to sell its Danville property, with proceeds to help recoup the costs of acquiring Canyon Commons in San Ramon.
